Brian McCoy

Brian started his professional tennis teaching career right out of Hamline University in 1979. The Arden Hills Club was where Brian learned the art of teaching. During those years Brian started 30 years of volunteering and national leadership at the USTA and USPTA. In 1990 Brian led the Moore Lake Tennis program for the Northwest Clubs and continued there with Lifetime Fitness as Tennis Director until 2017. So many great players, instructors, and parents made Fridley an enchanting place for competitive players to train. JTT was a major highlight during those years with 2 National 14 and under Advanced Titles and 17 straight national appearances.

In 2020 his wife Rene passed away of pancreatic cancer. She was a tennis player, runner, teacher and an amazing mom. In her honor we hold the Monarch Fund 5 K Run/Walk on August 18th 2024 in St. Paul on Harriet Island every year. The last six years Brian has been blessed to work with high performance players with his sons and Katie Wessman at SLP. Looking forward to serving the areas top players for years to come at Deciding Point Tennis.
